Appearance: A dull pale brown, a tad cloudy with a good bit of carbonation. It looks a bit drab though. Not sure why really. The head is quite nice. Slightly off-white and long lasting. That color though…
Smell: Hops. Lots of hops. I get a little bit of citrus maybe, but mostly hops.
Taste: That smell was very deceptive because this beer is shockingly mild, not overly hoppy at all. I definitely get grapefruit and hops, but the taste falls flat. The mouthfeel is very thin. This beer has adequately confused me. I liked the citrus notes though.
Overall: 72/100. I’ve had worse, but if I had to rush out for an IPA this would not be what I wanted. This beer was all over the place. I liked the smell, but the color was unappealing and the taste really left a lot to be desired.
Up Next: Columbus Brewing Company Winter Warmer.
I find Magic Hat beers to be very hit or miss – mostly miss, for me. I usually avoid them, to be honest.
I’ve found the same to be true. This wasn’t awful, but I’ll never have it again.
