Appearance: Not great. It’s the color of Mountain Dew; neon yellow. The head is white and gone before I could finish typing this.
Smell: Fruity, very citrusy. Too much in fact. I’m certain that I can predict how this will taste.
Taste: The flavor is incredibly weak. Slight hops taste. Not much of anything else. The aftertaste is harsh; wet cardboard.
Overall: This had no redeeming qualities. I have nothing more to say. 5/100

How old was the bottle? While I think Goose Island summertime is pretty bad, 5/100 seems a bit low. I can’t say I’ve had a satisfying kolsch-style beer, though. When I see stuff like “wet cardboard,” it makes me think you had an old or bad bottle.
I still have the bottle, says it was brewed 7/6/12. The ‘wet cardboard’ or ‘corked wine’ taste typically would push me towards a bad bottle, but the color and smell didn’t help. Perhaps my rating was low, but I doubt I’d be any more forgiving if the bottle was fresh off the line.
